Salem, Alabama

A hidden jam in Alabama; Meadows Mill House in Salem. I planned originally to go with Chebom after Spring quarter to celebrate the long long quarter that has finally ended. As an Airbnb searcher this place was such a treasure so close to Valley where it is pretty difficult to find a close spot to get away. The black cottage was right next to a huge waterfall, and the cottage was designed very similar to the cottage I stayed in Giverny, France called La Dime de Giverny. Old wooden floors, white and beige fabrics, squeaky wooden noises and softly lit window stills. Hoya joined last minute and we extended the stay. Even though it was a long trip, I wish I could have stayed longer. I think my favorite moments were being in the bubble bath next to the window that reflects nothing but greenery and sitting in the sunroom chair. Also making breakfast without any heat was the most delicious, healthy brunch in front of the waterfall. Being away in a place like this really reminds me of there are not many things that are needed in my daily lives. The noisy social media, full closet, long list of todo stuff is not needed sometimes and it is important to get away for some distance. And that is probably when I feel charged and ‘okay’ of being stopped.
