Yubi Studio Hanbok
The Hanbok Story | From Canvas to Wearable Art
Yubi Studio's Hanbok journey began not in fashion, but in art.
As I created portraits of women dressed in Hanbok, I began imagining my own designs through collage, blending traditional Korean silhouettes with the romantic elegance of Victorian-era dresses I had studied at the London College of Fashion.
Inspired by both worlds, I reimagined traditional Hanbok with voluminous silhouettes, delicate lace, puff sleeves, soft gathers, and graceful details.
I dreamed of bringing the dresses from my portraits to life—of wearing the very garments I had once imagined on canvas. This dream led me to create my first samples in Korea, the United States, and Indonesia, transforming my artwork into tangible pieces.
What began as an extension of my paintings has blossomed into a collection of wearable art. I feel incredibly blessed to see my imagination come to life as garments that others can wear, cherish, and make part of their own stories.
From canvas to clothing, each Hanbok is a living piece of my artistic journey.
